Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher - West Chester, PA

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide Learning Support services for high school students in grades 9-12. This role supports the diverse educational needs of learners within a structured high school setting, focusing on individualized instruction and adaptive strategies to promote student success.

Location: West Chester, PA

Position Type: Contract, January 2026 through end of school year (June 2026)

Grade Levels: 9-12 (High School)

Caseload: Learning Support

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal special education guidelines
• Deliver specialized instruction and interventions tailored to the unique learning needs of high school students with disabilities
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding student performance and needs
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• Valid Special Education teaching certification applicable for grades 9-12
• Experience teaching Learning Support to high school students
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and behavioral management techniques
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
