Educational Interpreter - Woodbridge, Virginia

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available at an elementary school in Woodbridge, VA. This contract role requires 37.5 hours per week and involves providing interpreting services to support students and staff in the educational environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III, or
• An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher, or
• National Interpreter Certification (NIC)
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting preferred
  
  

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their teachers and peers
• Interpret classroom instruction and school activities accurately and effectively
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessible learning environments
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
