DHH Teacher | Irving, Texas

An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students from Pre-K through 6th grade. This contract role is located in Irving, Texas, serving one campus within a school district from August 12, 2026, to May 20, 2027. The position offers flexibility, with part-time to full-time hours ranging from 21 to 35 hours per week (minimum of three 7-hour days).

Key Responsibilities Include

• Conducting evaluations and interpreting audiograms for students with hearing impairments
• Managing a caseload of students from Pre-K to 6th grade
• Participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to develop individualized educational plans
• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Collaborating with educators and families to support student success
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching license through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) required
• Experience working in a Texas school setting is preferred
• Strong understanding of audiology and educational strategies for hearing-impaired students
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
