Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or DHH Specialist
- Experience supporting K-12 students with hearing impairments is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with assistive technology, FM systems, and educational accommodations
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Flexible attitude to adapt to students’ needs and school culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and direct support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in classroom and 1:1 settings
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Advocate for inclusive practices, fostering an accessible and supportive learning environment
- Consult with staff and families to share strategies and progress updates
- Utilize assistive technology to maximize student participation
- Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility and progress meetings
