Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field, active Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification, and 1 years Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist. This part-time contract position spans the 2026-2027 school year, with a start date of September 2, 2026, and an end date of June 4, 2027. Serve a diverse group of early childhood through young adult learners (up to age 22), making a meaningful difference across their educational journeys. The caseload consists of 14 students, allowing for focused, individualized attention.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with early childhood, school-aged, and young adult students (up to 22 years old)
  • Strong knowledge of audiology, sign language, and assistive technology
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Dedication to inclusivity and advocacy for students’ needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting instructional methods as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and other service providers
  • Advocate for student accommodations, technology, and accessibility
  • Develop and maintain IEP documentation and required reporting
