This contract role offers hands-on experience in a busy Cath Lab setting where technical skill and teamwork contribute directly to patient care during cardiovascular procedures.Location Overview:Charleston offers a blend of urban and natural attractions, with rich cultural history and recreational opportunities nearby. This city provides comfortable living with access to dining, entertainment, and outdoor activities along the scenic Kanawha River.Position Responsibilities:Scrub and assist physicians during diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, IABP, and temporary pacemaker insertions Apply sterile technique rigorously in a two-suite Cath Lab environment Collaborate closely with RNs responsible for patient sedation, circulation, and documentation Utilize Siemens software and equipment effectively throughout daily averages of 5-10 cases Participate in a primary schedule of five days per week with variable start/stop times depending on case load Fulfill on-call duties one week out of every four, including weekend and holiday rotations Respond to call notifications within 30 minutes Desired Qualifications:Certified Radiologic Technologist (AART) with current BLS certification Minimum one year of Cath Lab or Radiologic Tech experience, first-time travelers with strong backgrounds are welcome Familiarity with cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures Capable of adhering to strict sterile protocols and surgical attire requirements Additional Details:Radiation badge provided by the staffing agency (facility does not supply) Requires general hospital orientation and department-specific computer training (up to 36 hours) No floating is required, though extra hours may be available on other units upon experience Travel restrictions apply: no local travelers within 50 miles accepted, and strict submission guidelines must be followed Contract duration limited to one year maximum per system rules This contract is an excellent opportunity for skilled Cath Lab Technologists seeking rewarding cardiovascular experience in a supportive clinical environment.
