What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Growth & Marketing position at SoleSolution?
At SoleSolution, we have 40,000 users, a flagship HQ on Broadway, and the guaranteed lowest prices. We have the traction - now we need the engine. We are looking for a Head of Growth who lives at the intersection of data-driven performance and sneaker culture.
Who We Are
SoleSolution is the first sneaker marketplace built to guarantee the lowest prices and the best experience for the community. Based out of our HypeClub HQ at 710 Broadway, we are reimagining the resell industry. We are looking for a hungry, "Ground Floor" leader to own our entire marketing stack and scale us to our first 100k users and beyond.
The Mission
Your goal is Conversion and Scale. You will be responsible for activating our existing 40k users and building the acquisition funnels for the next 100k . This is a hands-on role: you will set the strategy, build the funnels, and analyze the data.
What You’ll Own
- Data & Retention: Deep dive into Mixpanel to track user behavior. You will build and optimize our lifecycle funnels using OneSignal (Push/SMS) and Mailgun (Email) to turn sign-ups into active traders.
- Acquisition: Lead our Social Media, Paid Ads (Meta/Google), SEO, and AEO
- Content & Community: Direct content creation, manage influencer/UGC campaigns, and build a referral program that makes the community do the marketing for us.
- HQ Presence: You’ll be based at our NYC HQ to capture content with influencers, collaborate with the founders, and stay plugged into the SoleSolution community.
Who You Are
- The Data Scientist: You don’t guess; you test. You understand cohorts, CAC/LTV, and how to fix a leaky conversion funnel.
- The Hustler: You want to grow with a startup. You aren't looking for a corporate 9-to-5; you’re looking for a career-defining win.
- The Sneakerhead: You’ve bought or sold on StockX, GOAT, or Whatnot. You understand the "drop" mentality.
Requirements & Essentials
The Analytical Engine
- Data Proficiency: Deep, hands-on experience with Mixpanel. You must be able to build custom events, track retention cohorts, and identify exactly where users are dropping off in the funnel.
- CRM & Automation Architecture: Proven ability to build complex, multi-stage "drip" campaigns. You should know how to use OneSignal for push/SMS and Mailgun for transactional emails to re-engage dormant users.
- Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO): Experience A/B testing landing pages, app store screenshots, and in-app onboarding flows to lower Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC).
- The Tech Stack: Familiarity with the "Modern Growth Stack." You understand how data flows from the app to your marketing tools (APIs, Webhooks, and Attribution tracking).
The Creative & Cultural Edge:
- Content Production: You don't just "post"; you create. You have experience directing or producing high-quality short-form video (Reels/Shorts/TikTok) that feels native to the streetwear community - not like a corporate ad.
- Social & Community Mastery: You know how to build on IG/X/Reddit. You understand the nuances of "sneaker Twitter" and the hype cycle.
- Influencer & UGC Management: Experience identifying, reaching out to, and managing relationships with influencers and creators. You know how to negotiate "seeding" deals and track the ROI of those partnerships.
- Marketplace Psychology: You understand why people buy / sell on Whatnot vs. Goat. You know how to use "Scarcity" and "Exclusivity" as marketing levers.
The Strategy & Leadership:
- Full-Funnel Ownership: You are comfortable owning the entire journey: from the first time someone hears about SoleSolution to the moment they receive their first payout as a seller.
- SEO/AEO Strategy: Knowledge of how to optimize content for both traditional search (Google) and the new era of AI/Answer Engine Optimization (SearchGPT/Perplexity).
- Financial Literacy: You can manage a marketing budget and report on key KPIs like LTV/CAC ratios, monthly churn, and viral coefficients.
What You’ll Gain
- Founding-Level Impact: Total ownership over the marketing department.
- Potential Growth: Significant upside as we scale.
- Network: Access to the center of the NYC sneaker world.
