Through a combination of marketing and sales efforts, the Sales Counselor supports the Director of Sales & Marketing by generating, managing, and converting leads to achieve budgeted occupancy targets. This role assists with tours, follow-up, move-in coordination, and referral development while maintaining a strong presence inside the community and within the local market.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Occupancy Support
- Partner with the Executive Director to move prospects through the sales process
- Generate and convert qualified inquiries, referrals, tours, and move-ins
- Utilize Solera sales methodologies to achieve targeted closing ratios
- Accurately represent the community’s services, amenities, and pricing
- Respond promptly to incoming inquiries and conduct consistent follow-up
- Enter and maintain accurate lead and activity data in the CRM
- Track referrals, inquiries, tours, and outcomes
- Build and maintain relationships with local referral sources
- Participate in networking events and community outreach
- Maintain an outside referral database and meet weekly contact goals
- Monitor model and respite rooms daily to ensure tour readiness
- Conduct morning walk-throughs to ensure common areas are show-ready
- Assist with staging and presentation of model spaces
- Assist with weekly marketing and occupancy reporting
- Support Competitive Market Analyses as requested
- Assist with social media and local marketing initiatives
- Participate in stand-up meetings and cross-department collaboration
- Assist with setup and breakdown of marketing and special events
- Maintain a positive, professional image in all interactions
- Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments
- Associate’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or sales preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to individuals and groups
- Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
- Ability to spend part of the workweek marketing and selling outside the community
- Proficiency with basic office and CRM systems
