The Dishwasher supports the Culinary Services team by maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and dining areas. This role is essential to ensuring food service operations run smoothly and residents receive meals in a safe and welcoming environment. Dishwashers may also assist with basic food prep and dining room support as needed.
Dishwasher Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in all kitchen and food service areas.
- Operate and maintain the ware-washing system, including setup and breakdown.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, equipment, and kitchen areas according to policy.
- Store food and non-food supplies properly.
- Assist with table setup, clearing tables, and supporting dining service as needed.
- Follow food safety, infection control, and resident rights policies at all times.
- Represent the community in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Work cooperatively with culinary team members and other departments.
- Attend required in-services, meetings, and trainings.
- Follow all community safety policies and report hazards or concerns promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.
- Report to work as scheduled and demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Six (6) months of dishwashing or utility experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and detail-focused.
- Displays integrity, professionalism, and respect for residents and coworkers.
- Demonstrates genuine concern for the well-being of older adults and their families.
- Annual flu vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions considered).
