About the Role:
Provides technical expertise necessary to design all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing of ACS Airfoils components and assemblies
What You Will Do:
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization, as it affects cost benefits, process and safety risks as well as key customer concerns.
Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
Change Control - MFG: Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively, and prevents unauthorized or unintended deviations in compliance with that of change control policies
Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to effectively implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired design objective or invention. While working with various complex engineering operations, and processes.
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes as it impacts work cell design and effectiveness monitoring. Finds solution for key technical and people problems associated with transformation to lean. Explains issues and considerations of implementing lean in own function or area. Selects and utilizes tools, techniques and measurements associated with a lean assessment.
Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process. Ability to use industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness. Develops documentation for all major activities and tasks, and able to train others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate can effectively address hardware, software and communications problems and likely resolutions. Works with vendor-specific diagnostic guides, tools and utilities to discover application problems.

- Monitoring sophisticated equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.
- Providing, coaching and development for operations staff and support areas.
- Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.

What You Will Do:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience
- Experience creating manufacturing planning (Quicksilver and/or Creo)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with Quality Management System (Process maps, Work Instructions, Guidance Notes)
- Experience with Lean Methodologies
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of airfoils and other turbomachinery components
- Strong knowledge of CBN Grinding, EDM, Laser welding, and component airflow testing operations
- Experience with processing non-conforming parts and collaborating with supporting engineering groups.
- Project or team leadership experience
- Working knowledge of Creo
- Experience with Windchill, Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Aptitude for technology and data acquisition
- Experience interfacing with external suppliers and/or vendors
