At Magnetic Specialties, we design and manufacture custom transformers and magnetic components for a wide range of industries. As a small but fast-paced shop, our Shipping and Receiving Assistant will play a vital role in this process. This position is perfect for someone who is seeking reliable, hands-on work.
As a Shipping and Receiving Assistant at Magnetic Specialties in Telford, PA, you’ll work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, You’ll play a crucial role in our operations by assisting with any shipping and receiving efforts. With the right mindset, and attention to detail, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to grow and contribute to the team.
Day to day you will:
- Receive incoming goods and verify contents against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and report any discrepancies in items received to the manager; assist in proper documentation for the Purchasing department.
- Organize and submit all shipping and receiving documentation to the office to support timely payment processing.
- Store incoming materials in designated inventory locations, maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
- Prepare and pack parts for timely and secure courier shipments.
- Construct skids and crates as needed to support safe transport of equipment and materials.
- Package equipment appropriately for larger truck shipments in accordance with safety and handling standards.
- Read, understand, and follow shipping instructions as outlined in Sales orders.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with third-party trucking companies to ensure prompt and accurate delivery.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining adequate inventory levels of essential shipping supplies.
What you need to thrive in this role
- High School Diploma or GED and applicable years of work-related experience
- Possess valid driver’s license
- Reliable, organized and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively balance multiple tasks and priorities
- Previous warehouse or shipping and receiving experience preferred
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs. and work around material handling equipment
