Job Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in a Foundry setting, including but not limited to, receiving and processing inbound shipments, processing outbound shipments both LTL large freight & small package. Creating BOL’s for the shipments, contacting the customer base to arrange outbound shipments, processing in-house orders and entering them into the company computer base, operating a forklift when needed. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, be able to work independently, and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process inbound shipments.
- Create BOL’s for outbound shipments for LTL Freight & Small Package
- Contact customer base to arrange both outbound & inbound shipments.
- Pull paperwork for orders and distribute to the designated departments.
- Process in-house work orders in company base network.
- Manage and organize shipping department inventory.
- Operate foundry equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse storage & office environment.
- Communicate with relevant departments to assure positive flow of work orders and relevant paperwork.
- Assist with other foundry tasks as needed.
- Good Attendance record.
- Basic math & computer skills.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a warehouse setting preferred.
- Prior experience in a shipping & receiving setting preferred.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Be able to read and write English (necessary).
- Have good math skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Be able to pass a background check.
Physical Demands: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be required to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time. The position may require extended periods of time working on a company computer. The position may also require bending, stooping, and reaching. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
Work Environment: The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will work in a foundry setting, which may include exposure to loud noises, dust, and other environmental factors. The position may also require working in cold or hot temperatures. Employee will be required to wear proper PPE when needed.
Salary: The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
