Solar Superintendent C&I
Role Overview:
The Solar Superintendent – C&I oversees field execution of mid- to large-scale commercial and industrial solar PV and BESS projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are constructed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering plans, electrical codes, and company standards.
The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, coordinating installation crews, subcontractors, inspections, and materials to ensure projects are completed on schedule and to the highest quality standards. This role also provides technical leadership on code compliance and supports the development of field personnel through mentorship and training. This position is ideal for a hands-on construction leader with strong solar EPC experience who thrives in a fast-paced and growing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Management
- Oversee all on-site construction activities for commercial and industrial solar PV and BESS installations.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Plan and manage daily and weekly work schedules to meet project timelines.
- Resolve field issues, design conflicts, and constructability challenges in coordination with engineering and project management teams.
- Monitor productivity and maintain accountability for project performance.
Safety
- Facilitate and lead jobsite safety meetings, tailgate talks, and daily hazard assessments.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, fall protection, and electrical safety practices.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements across all field operations.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure installations comply with engineering drawings, NEC requirements, utility interconnection standards, and local AHJ regulations.
- Perform quality inspections throughout construction.
- Coordinate inspections with utilities, AHJs, and third-party inspectors.
- Ensure projects are prepared for inspections and support successful inspection outcomes.
Coordination & Communication
- Serve as the primary field contact for installers, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal teams.
- Coordinate closely with Project Management, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure materials, manpower, and schedules align with project needs.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and schedule performance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide technical guidance to crew leads, apprentices, and electricians.
- Support the development of field personnel pursuing electrical licensure and certifications.
- Promote a professional, organized, and high-performance jobsite culture.
Requirements:
- 5 years of solar construction experience, including commercial or industrial PV projects.
- 2 years in a field leadership role (Superintendent, General Foreman, or Foreman).
- Experience coordinating inspections and working with AHJs and utilities.
- Active electrical license in GA and/or SC; additional state licenses in the Southeast preferred.
- Deep understanding of NEC, electrical installation practices, and commercial PV systems.
- Experience managing both in-house crews and subcontractors.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Passion for renewable energy and advancing clean energy infrastructure.

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
