(Solar) Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of large-scale utility solar projects. This position works closely with project management, engineering, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and operations personnel to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has previous utility-scale solar construction or project management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the overall management and oversight of large-scale utility solar projects.
• Track project budgets, schedules, change orders, purchase orders, and cost forecasts.
• Support the Project Manager and scheduling team with maintaining and updating project schedules.
• Communicate regularly with project owners and clients, respond to project needs, and assist with required reporting.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Monitor construction activities and productivity and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
• Support administration of the project's QA/QC program as construction progresses.
• Coordinate with engineering and field teams to identify and resolve field challenges.
• Assist with contracting, coordinating, and managing subcontractors and vendors.
• Conduct trade pre-construction meetings and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and permit inspections.
• Assist project engineers with RFIs and submittals.
• Manage and coordinate onsite subcontractor activities to help maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Assist the Project Manager and O&M team with effective project closeout.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work in an active utility-scale solar construction environment.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with onsite field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and project leadership.
• Ability to travel to project locations as required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.

Experience

• Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager on large-scale utility solar projects or relevant field experience working onsite on large-scale utility solar projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, schedules, budgets, and construction activities is preferred.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
