Position Summary:
The Medication Technician plays a critical role in ensuring residents receive their medications accurately and on time. This role also assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), supports residents with memory care needs, and works closely with care staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Pay:
- $20.00/hour starting rate – higher pay available based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and state regulations
- Maintain accurate medication records and documentation
- Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition and report promptly to supervisor/nurse
- Assist with ADLs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support as needed
- Provide compassionate care to residents with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia
- Collaborate with caregivers, nurses, and management to ensure quality care
- Ensure medication carts and supplies are stocked and organized
- Follow all infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols
Qualifications:
- Current Med Tech certification (per California RCFE regulations)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in assisted living, memory care, or a similar care setting
- Current CPR and First Aid certification from an in-person class (online-only certifications not accepted)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused demeanor
- Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks
