Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders efficiently to kitchen staff
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their visit, addressing any concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Clear tables efficiently, bussing dishes and resetting tables for new guests while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments through POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and cashiering procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic demeanor that fosters guest relations
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while multitasking seamlessly across serving, bussing, and guest interactions
- Familiarity with food handling, sanitation practices, food safety regulations, and basic math for accurate billing
- Previous experience in host/hostess roles or food industry positions is a plus but not required
- Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity is advantageous for understanding food preparation processes
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting trays or bussing tables
