Sokolof Remtulla, LLP is a national real estate and creditor’s rights law firm with offices in Florida (Orlando, Boca Raton), California (Irvine), Georgia (Norcross), Louisiana (New Orleans), and New York (Buffalo).
As a rapidly growing firm, we are seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our creditor’s rights practice in Georgia. The successful candidate will support attorneys in representing banks, credit unions and financial lenders in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases focusing on maximizing recovery and protecting collateral interests.

JOB SPECIFICS:
Bankruptcy Paralegal with prior legal experience in Georgia Bankruptcy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior experience working at a law firm or handling legal-based issues.
- Prior experience in real estate, creditor's rights and litigation.
- Ability to think and act independently.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook. Proficiency in Perfect Practice, Case Aware, LoanSphere (LPS), Tempo, Serengeti or similar case management systems is preferred, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and filing court documents including but not limited to proofs of claims, motions for relief from stay, objections to confirmation and reaffirmation agreements.
- Case management including monitoring and managing bankruptcy case dockets for all Georgia districts and assisting with other states districts when needed in Florida, California, New York and possibly other jurisdictions.
- Communicating directly and providing timely updates to the firm’s clients regarding case status, collateral, and recovery efforts.
- Communicating directly with the courts, including the trustees, debtors and debtors counsel as well as court staff to ensure compliance with local rules and in negotiating consent orders and hearing dates amongst other tasks.
- Document review including analyzing chapter 13 plans, debtor schedules and statements of financial affairs to identify risks to creditors and ensure the creditors’ interests are being adequately represented in the case.
- Inputting, billing and calendaring events and ensuring time and dates are being tracked and followed up with accordingly.
Pay: Competitive and dependent on prior work experience.
Certification: None required, but paralegal and/or legal training is required.
