Job Title: Brunch & Dinner Shift Server
Job Summary:
SOHO Modern Japanese is looking for a competent Restaurant Server to take and deliver orders during our brunch and dinner shifts. You will be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers' experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages, and taking payments. You must be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we'd like to meet you. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
- Attend to customers upon entrance and seat them promptly.
- Present restaurant menus and help customers select food/beverages.
- Take and serve orders accurately and efficiently.
- Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products.
- Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff to ensure a smooth dining experience for all customers.
- Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
- Issue bills and accept payments in a timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of experience as a Casual Dining Server.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties.
- Attention to cleanliness and safety.
- Patience and customer-oriented approach.
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
- Responsible and trustworthy.
- High school diploma is a plus but not required.
- Excellent personal hygiene and grooming practices.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a valid California Food Handler's Card within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to obtain a valid California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Server Card within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Hours:
This position is part-time, 2-3 shifts lunch or dinner (Must be available on Sundays). Lunch hours 10:00AM - 3:00PM, Dinner hours 5:00PM to 10:00PM.
Compensation:
Average pay of $45-55 per hour including tips.
