Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain proper food handling procedures at all times
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, slicers, and mixers safely and efficiently
- Support the culinary team in menu planning and ingredient prep to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas through regular cleaning and sanitation
- Assist with food plating, portioning, and presentation to meet quality standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or culinary environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Strong knife skills including slicing techniques for efficient prep work
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment
