What you will do at Sogeti:
Job Title: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer (PySpark & Delta Optimization)
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Notebooks, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
- Build and manage Bronze, Silver, and Gold lakehouse architectures.
- Implement and optimize Delta Lake tables for large-scale analytics workloads.
- Develop incremental load, CDC, and upsert/merge patterns using PySpark.
- Tune Spark workloads to improve performance, reduce execution time, and minimize capacity consumption.
- Analyze Spark execution plans, shuffle operations, partitioning, and memory usage.
- Optimize Fabric capacities and monitor workload performance.
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and reporting teams to deliver scalable solutions.

- Small file management

- VACUUM implementation and retention management
- Z-Order optimization where appropriate
- Spark monitoring, shuffle optimization, and executor tuning
- Data skipping and query performance improvements
