A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking a Production Planning Supervisor to lead a team responsible for production scheduling, material planning, and manufacturing execution support. This position offers the opportunity to influence production performance, improve planning processes, and help drive operational excellence within a complex manufacturing environment. The role combines hands-on planning responsibilities with team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a team responsible for production planning and scheduling activities
• Coordinate production schedules to align customer demand, material availability, labor capacity, and manufacturing priorities
• Monitor schedule performance and proactively identify risks that could impact delivery commitments
• Partner with manufacturing, procurement, engineering, quality, and operations teams to resolve production constraints
• Maintain planning parameters including lead times, safety stock levels, lot sizing, and planning data accuracy
• Analyze production and inventory metrics to improve schedule attainment, inventory performance, and on-time delivery
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning effectiveness, operational efficiency, and process standardization
• Support forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory management efforts
Required Qualifications
• Experience leading production planning, production control, scheduling, or supply chain teams within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of Master Production Scheduling, Material Requirements Planning, and capacity planning
• Experience utilizing Oracle ERP Supply Chain and Manufacturing applications
• Ability to balance changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing operation
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Experience supporting high-mix manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of S&OP processes
• Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
