Role: Security Architect (IAM & Automation)
Location: Columbia, NC
Position: Remote
Duration: Long Term
Daily Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identity & Access Management (IAM): Ensure the proper implementation and configuration of Identity Management, Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Active Directory, and related applications to support IT and Security operations.
- Security Automation: Responsible for the development and implementation of automation to integrate disparate security and enterprise IT tools.
- Security Solution Lifecycle: Plan, design, develop, and implement enterprise security solutions that align with business goals and organizational risk tolerance.
- Threat Mitigation: Design, deploy, and manage countermeasures for known security threats. Develop preventative mitigation strategies for new and emergent threats to enterprise data, networks, and associated services.
- Security Assurance: Ensure, validate, and measure the consistent application of protective measures across enterprise business applications and infrastructure. Take appropriate action to protect state data and technology services.
Required Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance):
- Automation Expertise: 5 years of experience in automation development using tools such as Python and Bash.
- Identity & Access Management: 5 years of experience with an expert-level understanding of Identity and Access Control, logging, and reporting systems.
- Cybersecurity Foundation: 5 years of experience with a deep awareness and understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Platform & Network Security: 5 years of experience with Linux, Windows, and network security protocols and procedures.
- Enterprise Environment Support: Five years of experience supporting large-scale IT environments and/or system deployments.
Preferred Skills (Ranked in Order of Importance):
- SIEM Proficiency: SIEM analysis and reporting.
- Security & Compliance Frameworks: Experience with frameworks such as NIST, CSF, CJIS, IRS 1075, and CMS MARS-E.
- Application Security: Application Security (AppSec) knowledge.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
- Substitution: Eight (8) years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.
Preferred Education & Certifications:
- Advanced security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISO, or equivalent.
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, OSCP, GPEN).
- Vendor-specific certifications in SIEM or logging technologies.
Interview Process:
- All interview interactions will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
- Candidates must have their camera on (on-camera) for interviews.
