What are the responsibilities and job description for the LogicMonitor Network Analyst :: W2 only Houston TX position at Software Technology Inc.?
Top Skills' Details
1️⃣ Network Monitoring Expertise (Hands-On)
This is the foundation of the role.
✅ Must be able to:
Configure and manage monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NNMi, LogicMonitor, etc.)
Set alert thresholds, severity levels, and rules
Understand how monitoring platforms behave in real environments
👉 Why it matters:
The entire project is a monitoring platform migration, so without real hands-on monitoring experience, the candidate will struggle.
2️⃣ SNMP / MIB / OID Knowledge (Critical Differentiator)
This is the hardest skill to find—and most valuable.
✅ Must be able to:
Interpret and translate MIBs and OIDs
Turn raw SNMP data into meaningful, human-readable alerts
Understand how devices communicate health/status via monitoring protocols
👉 Why it matters:
Marcus specifically needs someone to translate and validate alert data, not just configure tools.
3️⃣ Alert Validation & Monitoring Accuracy (Core Function)
This is what the role is really about.
✅ Must be able to:
Perform 1:1 alert validation (old system vs new system)
Identify:
Missing alerts
Incorrect alert priorities
Gaps in monitoring coverage
Test and troubleshoot monitoring outputs in real-world scenarios
