JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and communicative individual who is passionate about food, is eager to learn and work hard, and brings good energy to work. Prior experience with catering is preferred, but we value enthusiasm, passion, and work ethic and are willing to train the right person.
Working under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the Catering Coordinator’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Field all requests for catering. Manage payment, communications, and coordination with managers to determine logistics, including menu, pricing, and timeline.
- Assist in creating and developing guest relations protocols for catering.
- Support the FOH team in packing orders and ensuring smooth pickup/delivery as needed.
- Build relationships with regular guests, groups, and corporations for recurring orders.
- Meet with management teams regularly for consultation, coordination, and brainstorming.
- Coordinate with delivery service.
- Assist in developing proactive marketing and outreach strategies to increase catering inquiries.
- Work with team members to create and maintain a culture that ensures that guest needs are met at every point of their Sofra experience.
- Act as a role model of appropriate behavior in the workplace, enforce procedures, and uphold quality standards.
The successful Catering Coordinator will work to support established goals and values and uphold existing culture and the highest quality standards of customer service and hospitality.
Requires excellent communication skills with both the public and the staff at all times. Utilizing best practices for building team and relationships, the Catering Coordinator will successfully manage community relations.

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION, & BENEFITS
This is a non-exempt, part-time role scheduled for roughly 10 hours per week, with the goal of increasing to a full-time role as catering demand increases. While the schedule is flexible, we expect this time to be split over roughly 3 days a week to regularly keep up with orders and communication. This position is in-person and based at Sofra Allston.
This position is paid at $25/hour, and additionally includes an incentive-based structure paid quarterly dependent on achieving catering revenue goals.
