WORK ENVIRONMENT: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the plant and warehouse areas. Temperatures can vary, and employees will be exposed to paper dust and noise levels requiring hearing protection.

- Must have a minimum of two years tissue experience in either a lead operator or supervisor position
- Associate Degree preferred
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Basic computer skills
- Lift certification

Essential Functions
- Support Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
- Interview, select, recommend, hire, train and supervise assigned staff. Assign and check work. Provide direction to staff and assist in the investigation and resolution of problems.
- Provide training for new employees on process and safety procedures of the paper mill.
- Determine required operating supplies and coordinate with employees to ensure correct materials are delivered.
- Examine production area prior to beginning of shift, conduct safety meetings, and communicate issues with next mill production shift.
- Respond to issues involving mill production, troubleshoot quality control issues and employee problems.
- Monitor movement of product from off load to inventory to ensure proper handling and product identification.
- Coordinate with Human Resources Manager on productivity, safety, and disciplinary actions with employees.
- Assist in the identification and repair of equipment problems.
- Participate in process improvement efforts and safety committees.
- Assist with housekeeping duties and maintain cleanliness of the facility.
- Perform or assist with any operations to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules.
- Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities and communicate issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
