Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods such as bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, and specialty items following established recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision using various cake decorating techniques to enhance visual appeal
- Operate kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and other baking tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety management practices and sanitation protocols
- Package baked goods carefully for retail display or catering orders while ensuring freshness and presentation standards are met
- Assist in food production processes by measuring ingredients accurately using basic math skills and following recipes diligently
- Support high-volume production needs during busy periods while maintaining consistency and quality across all baked items
Experience
- Proven experience in baking or pastry preparation within a commercial kitchen or bakery environment
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety regulations and food safety management systems
- Skilled in cake decorating, dough preparation, and operating various kitchen equipment with proficiency
- Experience with high-volume production settings is preferred to handle large orders efficiently
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting, shaping, and decorating baked goods
- Background in food industry standards with a focus on culinary excellence and customer satisfaction
- Catering experience or familiarity with food presentation for events is a plus
