University Programs Specialist
Pay Range: $60,000-$68,000
This is a hybrid position that is based in our Chicago/O’Hare Area office. Applicants must live within a 100-mile radius of home office to be considered for the role.
Your Purpose: supports and coordinates university programs and academic initiatives within the Education department, with responsibility for the University-Earned Credit (UEC) program, SOA testing program, Centers of Actuarial Excellence (CAE), Actuarial Teaching Conference (ATC), and University Outreach program. This role reports to the Manager, University Programs, and works closely with Education staff and other departments to ensure effective coordination of university-related programs.
What You’ll Do:
University-Earned Credit (UEC) Program:
- Support the UEC Oversight Committee, including meetings, site visits, communications, and reports
- Serve as primary contact for External Examiners (EEs) and Exam Reviewer Pool (ERP), including training, relationship management, and report review
- Coordinate logistics and maintain systems (e.g., Monday.com) to support UEC operations
SOA Testing Program:
- Liaise with vendors and universities, address escalated issues, and manage exam materials
Academic Events & Conferences:
- Coordinate the Actuarial Teaching Conference (ATC) and other academic events, including logistics, speakers, registration, marketing, and sponsorship support
- Assist with international events and process attendee reimbursements as needed
Centers of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) Program:
- Support the CAE Evaluation Committee and Appeals Board
- Coordinate and participate in site visits, including logistics and reporting
University Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with faculty, students, and stakeholders
- Share SOA announcements and materials in collaboration with the Engagement Division
- Represent Education in outreach visits and events
General Support:
- Assist with data collection and report preparation for the Manager, University Programs
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5 years of administrative experience, ideally in an association, university, or educational/training environment
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication (oral and written) skills
- Demonstrated diplomacy, professionalism, and ability to represent the organization effectively
- Proficient in Office 365; able to work independently
- Skilled at building relationships with senior volunteers and university contacts
- Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences
