What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Administrator for Social Work Professional Org position at Social Service Staffing & Recruiting, Inc.?
This is remote but requires travel to another state for 4 - 6 days every other year. This is flexible but most work is done during business hours. About 5 - 10 hours/ week on average but this person plans a national conference every other year (Thurs- Sun) and during that time and annually in January, the hours might increase to 20 - 30 hours/ week. The few weeks leading up to and post conference are very busy. This requires travel to another state. There is 1 monthly board meeting at 5PM PST.
The Administrator is the primary operational staff member and serves as the organizational backbone for day-to-day functions. Working closely with the Board of Directors, committee chairs, and members, the Administrator ensures smooth and efficient operations across membership services, communications, financial coordination, and event support. This role requires a detail-oriented, self-directed professional who is comfortable working in a small nonprofit environment and has a genuine interest in the mission of clinical social work. Managing membership, supporting the Journal membership, and biennial National Conference are the primary duties that ebb and flow throughout the year.
Qualifications:
- BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of administrative or nonprofit management experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms, and membership/database management systems (Apricot membership software, Squarespace website construction or similar)
- Background in clinical social work
- Experience planning and managing large events such as conferences
