What are the responsibilities and job description for the Startup Operations Intern (In-Person, Downtown Austin) position at Social Cuts?
15–20 hours/week | In-Person | Paid Internship
We’re hiring a smart, hungry operations intern to work in person at our downtown Austin office with two founders building multiple fast-moving businesses.
This is not a remote role.
You will be in the office, in the room, close to decision-making.
If you need constant direction, motivation, or structure — this is not the role for you.
You’ll work across three real, revenue-generating businesses:
- Social Cuts – a creative studio producing short-form content for founders and brands
- CreateAProWebsite – an education business helping people build online businesses
- PickleballHub – a fast-growing pickleball brand and media platform
This role is a mix of operations, project management, and execution.
Operations & Admin
- Help keep projects moving across all three businesses
- Organize tasks, deadlines, and workflows
- Support founders with day-to-day operational needs
Project Management
- Help manage editors and content workflows for Social Cuts
- Track deliverables and timelines
- Review editors’ work for quality before it goes to clients
- Communicate with clients over time as trust is built
Content & AI Tools
- Use tools like HeyGen to translate and localize video content
- Help manage content pipelines for education and media brands
The scope will grow quickly if you perform well.
You are:
- Smart, resourceful, and self-directed
- Comfortable figuring things out without hand-holding
- Organized but adaptable
- Motivated by responsibility and learning
- Interested in startups, media, or entrepreneurship
- Able to take feedback without ego
You don’t need years of experience — but you do need:
- Good judgment
- Clear communication
- High standards
- A bias toward action
This is:
- In-person startup experience
- Direct access to founders
- Real responsibility
- A steep learning curve
- Opportunity to grow into a bigger role
This is not:
- A corporate internship
- A remote role
- A slow, structured environment
- A job where someone tells you exactly what to do every hour
- 15–20 hours per week
- In-person at our downtown Austin office
- Paid (discussed with qualified candidates)
- Flexible schedule, but reliability is required
Send:
- A short note on why this role interests you
- Any relevant experience (school, work, side projects — all count)
- Optional but encouraged: An example of something you taught yourself or figured out independently
- Favorite music artists
- Your goals this year
We care more about how you think than what’s on your resume.
If you want to:
- Learn how real startups operate
- Be close to founders
- Take ownership early
- Build leverage instead of just padding a resume
You’ll like this role.
