Retail Receiving/Shipping Specialist

OVERVIEW

The Receiving Specialist will assist in ensuring that we receive correct packages and stock them appropriately. The Associate will receive and accurately document daily deliveries 1-3 times per day. Products must then be sorted, counted, added to the inventory system and stocked into the warehouse. In addition, the associate will be responsible for processing returns.. The associate will work as part of a team to maintain an organized, efficient warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the values of the organization.
• Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries.
• Receive shipments and document deliveries.
• Unload packages from incoming trucks.
• Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.
• Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.) and notify supervisor of major discrepancies.
• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
• Product sorting, counting and entry into inventory system.
• Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
• Process returns.
• Performs and assists with general maintenance, organization and cleanup of warehouse.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position and/or ability to accurately document shipping and receiving.
• Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
• Basic math and recording abilities
• Attention to detail and organization skills.
• Great communication and interpersonal abilities
• Basic understanding of inventory and warehouse policies preferred.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to traverse the warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
• Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of walking, lifting, standing, and carrying.
• Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to read and write effectively
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
