What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable and Billing Clerk position at SoCal Electric?
About the Opportunity
Behind every successful project is strong financial coordination—and that starts with Accounts Receivable.
A well-established and growing electrical contractor is looking for an Accounts Receivable Coordinator who understands the pace, complexity, and moving parts of construction billing. This role is critical to keeping projects financially on track, ensuring invoices go out accurately, and helping maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
If you’ve worked in construction or the trades, you know this isn’t just data entry. It’s coordination, follow-through, and knowing how to navigate real-world billing challenges.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage invoicing across multiple active projects, ensuring accuracy with contract terms and timelines
- Track and follow up on outstanding payments, including progress billing and retention
- Work closely with Project Managers to align billing with project status and approvals
- Identify and resolve discrepancies related to billing, change orders, and contract scope
- Maintain clean and accurate AR records within the system
- Communicate directly with clients, vendors, and internal teams to keep payments moving
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably within construction, electrical, or subcontracting
- Familiarity with progress billing, retention, and job cost structures
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized across multiple projects
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Confident communicator who can professionally follow up on payments
- Experience with Viewpoint is highly preferred
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Established electrical contractor with a strong reputation and steady pipeline of work
- Collaborative team environment where AR works closely with operations, not in a silo
- Leadership that understands the importance of strong financial processes
- Opportunity to grow with a company that is actively expanding
