What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Snyder Drug Stores?
Snyder Drug is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Newberry pharmacy. A part-time position is available, with day, evening and weekend shifts. Licensed technicians are preferred, but we will train the right person.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Process prescriptions and insurance claims
- Keep the pharmacy clean and organized
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (required by Michigan pharmacy technician law)
- Available to cover daytime shifts Monday through Sunday; evening availability preferred
- A Michigan pharmacy technician license. If you don't have one yet, you must apply for a temporary license right away when hired, which includes fingerprinting and a criminal background check.
- You must earn your permanent Michigan license within your first year. The temporary license expires after one year and cannot be renewed, and you cannot work in the pharmacy without a valid license.
Pay: $18.00/hr once your temporary license is obtained, increasing to $21.00/hr once your permanent license is issued by the state.
