Job Overview
We have an exciting job opening for a pharmacy technician to work at our independent community pharmacy. The position has flexible scheduling with no evenings and approximately every third Saturday. You will play a vital role in supporting patient care and medication management within a fast-paced community pharmacy setting. Your expertise will ensure accurate medication dispensing, patient safety, and seamless pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, able to multitask, work as a team player and have excellent communication skills. A Certified Pharmacy Technician is preferred with previous pharmacy experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Retrieving, pouring, counting, labeling, and reconstituting prescription medications
- Accessing, inputting, and retrieving information through the Pharmacy’s computer network to fill prescriptions, bill insurance, maintain accurate patient records, and answer patient questions
- Communicating with physicians, patients, and third-parties, such as insurers
- Maintaining Pharmacy inventory including restocking shelves, checking for outdated inventory and notifying pharmacy manager of low inventories
- Answering phones and directing customer calls to the appropriate personnel
- Maintaining and cleaning work areas and shelves
- Working as a team and promoting teamwork with ability to help in all areas where needed; running the cash register, etc.
- Handling customer problems/ concerns in a calm manner and referring them to the pharmacist accordingly
- Aiding pharmacist in providing professional services including CMRs, immunizations, med-sync, compliance packaging. Etc.
