Qualified Trailer Mechanic

Qualifications are, but not limited to:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have necessary tools to perform job functions
- Willing to work on becoming certified in DOT inspections, Air brake certifications, ASE certified.
- MIG Welding preferred
- Trailer repair: Minimum 1 years’ experience Required
- Brakes (lining, chambers, slack adjusters, air lines, etc.)
- ABS - System troubleshooting and repair
- Side sheet repairs - patch
- Corner Radius Repairs
- Lighting - Troubleshooting and repairs
- Landing gear repairs
- Roll-up & swing door replacements/ repairs
- Roof repairs – patch, section and replacement
- Scuff liner repairs and or replacements
- Suspensions repairs and replacement
- Major trailer repair/wreck repairs
- Bottom/top rail repairs and or replacements
- Side sheet replacements
- Floor section replacements
- Threshold repair/replacements
Requirements:
Qualified Mechanic: 1-3 years as a trailer/chassis mechanic (or similar). Possess most required tools.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Perform FAI and State required inspections.
- Inspect and repair “S” cam air brake systems.
- Diagnose and repair anti-lock brake systems.
- Perform repairs to commercial trailers and converter dollies in all potential aspects.
- Perform the required paperwork and/or computer records accordingly.
- Must be able to pass a background check
