AVEVA PI Solution Architect (W2)

Job Description

Role - AVEVA PI Solution Architect Location: Remote Role description: Client is looking for a Solution Architect to work part of an existing project team in reviewing the current implementation of an enterprise layer AVEVA PI System (Corporate PI). The purpose will be to understand and define changes/ improvements to the current implementation, to better meet current and future state business needs and requirements, as well as to define opportunities from an efficiency and cost perspective. The resource should have an appropriate AVEVA PI accreditation and relevant experience in leading PI System designs and architecting. The proposed candidate should also have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, being able to work well with the existing project team and effectively engage with other senior business stakeholders. Experience with other operational and real-time data infrastructures enabling enterprise analytics and reporting would also be beneficial. The project is US-based, and as such the candidate is expected to work US hours (Eastern Time). Role responsibilities and activities: Review the technical architecture of the current Corporate PI implementation and work with the project team to suggest and define any changes or improvements, based on the current and future state business requirements and needs. Formulate and define improvements to the technical architecture and compute resources, from an efficiency and cost perspective, meeting the current and future state business requirements and needs. Review the processes in place for the management and administration of the Corporate PI system and define improvement activities or opportunities that exist, based on the current and future state business requirements and needs. Understand the current use of the Corporate PI system and whether the existing deployment and processes in place are fit for purpose. Define any gaps and associated practical recommendations as required. Based on the understanding of the current and future state system and business needs, provide input into whether there are any other areas of improvement or opportunities that could be leveraged from more effective use of the PI system and its native functionality (e.g. with AF, Vision, etc.) Based on future state use cases and business needs, provide input into the suitability of the Corporate PI system and whether an alternate approach should be considered (e.g. augment existing solution or replace components of the solution, etc.) Based on all the above, provide defined recommendations and practical next steps for the solution in place (e.g. solution and technical architecture, processes, governance, management, administration).
