What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snow Play Attendant position at Snowcat Ridge?
Snowcat Ridge: Seasonal Snow Play Attendant Position
Are you looking for a fun, one-of-a-kind role where you help families play in real snow, right here in Florida? Do you enjoy being part of a friendly team that values safety, patience, and excellent customer service?
Join Snowcat Ridge, Florida's first Alpine Snow Park, as a Snow Play Attendant for our exciting winter season. You'll work inside the Arctic Igloo, our indoor snow play area with 100 tons of real snow, a snowball target area, and a Bunny Slope for our youngest riders. This is a great opportunity to build valuable guest-service skills and watch children experience snow for the very first time. The Arctic Igloo is kept at about 30 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the snow fresh, so you'll be working in the cold.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the snow play area and snowball target area to keep guests safe
- Explain and enforce snow play rules, including no snowball throwing at people, no snow fights or roughhousing, no eating the snow, and keeping all snow inside the Arctic Igloo
- Assist young riders with snow tubing on the Bunny Slope and check that riders are under 42 inches tall
- Enforce Bunny Slope rules, including closed-toe shoes, hats worn backwards, holding tube handles, and keeping legs tucked in
- Keep guests behind the safety barriers and out of the base of the Bunny Slope
- Clear guests from the Arctic Igloo at 30 minutes past every hour for snow grooming, and welcome them back when grooming is done
- Count guests and manage the entrance line when the Arctic Igloo reaches capacity
- Hand out and collect plastic snow toys and keep them organized
- Report slips, injuries, safety concerns, or guest disputes to a supervisor immediately
Work Areas You May Be Assigned To
- Snow Play Area: Monitor guests building snowmen and playing in the snow and snowball target area
- Bunny Slope: Assist young riders with snow tubing and keep the lanes clear
- Arctic Igloo Entrance: Manage capacity, the entrance line, and hourly grooming closures
Requirements
- 18 years or older
- Positive attitude and attentive to every guest's needs
- Patient, friendly, and comfortable working with young children and families
- Confident, clear communication, including when enforcing safety rules
- Reliable with punctuality and following instructions
- Available for weekends, evenings, and holidays during the season
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours, lift up to 20 lbs, and work for extended periods in the cold (about 30 degrees Fahrenheit) on wet and slippery snow
Helpful but Not Required
- Experience at a ski resort, snow park, playground, or children's attraction (training provided)
- Childcare, camp counselor, or teaching experience
- Customer service, hospitality, or theme park experience
What We Provide
- Uniform to wear during your shifts
