What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraeducator III - Specialty [POOL] position at Snoqualmie Valley School District?
- At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,
- Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Paraeducator Board (www.pesb.wa.gov); OR
- Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.; OR
- Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; OR
- Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
- A copy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
- Official post secondary transcript(s).
- Insurance: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance if the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.*
- Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
- Paid Holidays: This position is eligible for up to 12 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
- Paid Time Off: Employees working less than 12 months per year earn 7 days' worth of vacation pay per year and accrue 1 day of sick leave per month. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation and sick leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.
- Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more for SVSD in a school year, including substitute work, is eligible for benefits. Eligibility will be re-established at the start of each school year.

Position Summary: Under the direction of a certificated Teacher, this position is primarily instructional but limited to work within a Special Education self-contained setting (individually or in small groups), and will also assist with behavior and personal hygiene issues of high needs Special Education students.
