Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult and, when applicable, pediatric patients
- Perform admissions, daily rounds, discharges, and consults
- Stabilize and manage critically ill patients, including emergency cases until transfer if needed
- Collaborate with emergency department providers, nursing staff, and ancillary services
- Coordinate patient transfers to tertiary care facilities when necessary
- Participate in on-call coverage, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Perform or assist with procedures as appropriate to training (e.g., intubation, central lines, lumbar puncture)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and support hospital accreditation standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- ARNP, PA, MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Active and unrestricted state medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Experience in rural health, emergency care, or critical access settings preferred
- Ability to work independently with limited on-site specialty support
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in low-resource environments
- Proficiency in managing a wide range of medical conditions
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Comfort with procedural skills relevant to inpatient
