Lead Electrical Engineer

The Lead Electrical Engineer serves as a senior technical authority responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing power distribution systems for modular electrical products. This role leads complex electrical design efforts involving UPS systems, switchboards, switchgear, and critical power infrastructure while providing advanced technical guidance to engineering, production, and field teams. The position ensures all electrical systems meet requirements for safety, reliability, code compliance, and manufacturability within a modular production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design for modular infrastructure supporting mission‑critical applications, including modular data centers, power modules, e‑houses, electrical skids, and other specialized systems.
  • Develop and review single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring layouts, and AC/DC system designs.
  • Oversee integration of BMS, controls, security systems, and networking infrastructure within modular power solutions.
  • Produce detailed models, layouts, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent platforms.
  • Evaluate and specify electrical components such as transformers, busways, panelboards, cable tray, and cable bus.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and operations to review vendor designs, verify technical data, and approve major equipment submittals.
  • Provide technical oversight during shop drawing reviews and production builds to ensure wiring, terminations, and layouts meet code and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70/70E, UL, IBC, IEC, and other applicable standards.
  • Drive standardization of electrical designs to reduce rework and support scalable, repeatable product architectures.
  • Mentor engineers and designers, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and manufacturability.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical power integration challenges throughout design and production phases.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 15 years of electrical engineering experience in critical power systems, modular data centers, or large‑scale electrical infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise with UPS systems, switchboards, and switchgear in modular or prefabricated environments.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution design, load flow analysis, and protective device coordination.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar electrical design tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and field execution teams.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, UL, and related standards.
  • Background in DFM/DFA for electrical assemblies.
  • Track record of developing design standards and improving system reliability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining technical excellence.
