Desktop Support Professional

SNI Technology is seeking a Desktop Support Professional for a contract opportunity with a client in the Springfield, MA area.

Position Details

• Location: Springfield, MA
• Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
• Pay Rate: up to $28.00/hour
• Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20–24 hours per week
• Position Type: Contract role through the end of the year with possible extension into January/February

Position Overview

Our client is looking for a hands-on IT support professional to provide onsite assistance during a temporary staffing need. This position will support employees with day-to-day technology needs, including computer setup, equipment deployment, basic troubleshooting, and help desk requests.

The ideal candidate will have a customer-focused approach, solid foundational knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365, and the ability to work independently in an onsite environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, configure, and deploy computers, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
• Assist with new employee technology setup and workstation preparation.
• Respond to basic technical support requests and document resolutions.
• Troubleshoot common hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral issues.
• Assist with office moves, workstation changes, and delivery of technology equipment.
• Track and maintain IT hardware and equipment inventory.
• Keep support tickets and documentation up to date.
• Escalate more complex technical issues to senior IT personnel when appropriate.
• Provide professional, courteous support to end users.
• Assist with other day-to-day IT support activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft 365, and computer hardware.
• Previous help desk, desktop support, or technical support experience is preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues and follow established procedures.
• Comfortable working independently in an onsite environment.
• Ability to physically move and set up computers and other technology equipment as needed.
• IT coursework, certifications, or related technical training is a plus.
