Description of Job:
SnapCare is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) with neurology critical care experience for a long-term travel assignment in North Carolina. This position is based in the J4 Neuro Surgical ICU (NSICU), a high-acuity unit specializing in complex neurological and post-surgical patients. The ideal candidate is confident managing neuro-critical patients and thrives in a fast-paced ICU environment while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neuro ICU patients
- Perform detailed neurological and systemic patient assessments
- Monitor and manage patients post-thrombectomy, TPA, and neurosurgical procedures
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced critical care interventions
- Manage CRRT, bedside EVDs, A-line monitoring, and hemodynamic support
- Collaborate with physicians, neurosurgeons, and interdisciplinary ICU teams
- Accurately document patient care using the Cerner EMR system
- Float as needed to other ICUs or step-down units per facility policy
- Uphold hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based practices
Qualifications:
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience
- Neurology ICU experience strongly preferred
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative ICU team
