Description of Job:
SnapCare is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a long-term travel assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. This role supports the Resource Pool, providing high-quality nursing care across Med/Surg and Telemetry units. The ideal candidate is adaptable, clinically strong, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg and Telemetry patients
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Float between units within scope and competency as needed
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based practices
- Support patient and family education with clear, compassionate communication
Qualifications:
- Active RN license (Iowa or compact license accepted)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg and/or Telemetry experience
- Strong cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient populations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to float within the Resource Pool as needed
Required Certifications (Must be current prior to start date):
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- TNCC
- NIHSS
