What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Trainer — Independent Contractor position at Snap Fitness?
About the Role
We're building out our personal training program at Snap Fitness Spring Park and looking for a trainer to grow a client base inside a gym that's already got the traffic, the community, and the amenities to support it. This is an independent contractor role — you set your own schedule, build your own client roster, and run your training business the way you want, inside our space.
We have an active member base, two 24/7 facilities in the western suburbs, a recovery zone with sauna and cold plunge, and a smoothie cafe attached, a great environment to build a training practice in!
What You'd Do
- Build and manage your own client base and training schedule
- Conduct sessions on your own terms, one-on-one, small group, whatever fits your style
- Set your own rates within a standard range we'll discuss upfront
- Optionally participate in free goal-setting sessions offered to new members as a way to generate leads for your own client base
- Maintain a professional, welcoming presence on the gym floor during your sessions
What We're Looking For
- Current personal training certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, NSCA, or equivalent)
- Self-motivated — as an independent contractor, building your client base is on you, and we're looking for someone who's driven to do that
- Comfortable with basic client outreach and follow-up — the trainers who do well here are the ones who treat this like their own business, not just a place to show up and train whoever's already booked
How It Works
This is a 1099 independent contractor arrangement. You're not on our schedule — you build your own. Commission structure will be discussed directly and can be tailored to what makes sense for how you want to operate. Full access to the gym floor and equipment for your sessions.
Why This Gym
We're locally owned and invested in helping trainers succeed here, including access to new member leads who've expressed interest in personal training. If you're looking to build or grow a training business in a space that already has the member base and the amenities to support it, reach out!

Email us with your certification, insurance status, and a bit about your training style and experience. We'll set up a time to talk through how this could work for you.
