What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Fitness Instructor position at Snap Fitness?
About the Role
We're looking for a group fitness instructor to join our team at two of our locally owned 24/7 gyms in the western suburbs area. We're refreshing our class program with new formats and room to grow, and we're looking for instructors who want to be part of building that.
We're specifically looking for availability in one or more of the following: Yoga, Mat Pilates, Spin, and Strength/HITT/Bootcamp. You don't need to teach all four, even one format taught well and consistently is what we're looking for!
What You'd Do
- Teach one or more scheduled classes per week in your format(s) of availability
- Create a welcoming, energetic experience for both regular members and first-timers
- Communicate class format and expectations clearly so members know what to expect
- Promote our group classes and memberships on social media and in-person
- Show up prepared and on time, consistency is what builds a class community
- Occasional flexibility for schedule adjustments as we grow the program
What We're Looking For
- Current certification in your instructing format(s) — yoga, Pilates, spin, or strength/group fitness certification (NASM, ACE, AFAA, RYT, or equivalent)
- Reliable and communicative. We run a tight, member-first schedule and need instructors we can count on!
- A genuine ability to connect with people at any fitness level, our classes serve both longtime members and people trying a class for the first time
- Prior teaching experience preferred but not required if you're certified and ready to grow into it
Compensation
$20/hour per class.
Why This Gym
We're a locally owned gym with a real community, a recovery zone with sauna and cold plunge, and a smoothie cafe attached. Ownership is on-site regularly and genuinely invested in building a strong class program. Your input on scheduling, format, and growth is welcome, not just tolerated.
To Apply
Email us directly with your certification, availability, and which format(s) you'd teach. Tell us a little about your teaching style, not a formal cover letter, just a real introduction!
