Cement Sales Representative - Construction Materials Sales - Houston, TX

Hollingshead Cement, a division of Smyrna Ready Mix (SRM Concrete), is hiring an Outside Sales Representative to develop new business and build customer relationships across Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth, Texas.

This entry-level sales position offers the opportunity to build a career in cement sales and construction materials sales, with training provided. We are looking for a motivated, coachable person with a strong work ethic, dependable follow-through, and a commitment to serving customers. Previous cement or construction industry experience is helpful but not required.

This is a field sales role covering a large territory. Success requires consistent travel, prospecting, and face-to-face visits with customers and potential customers. The preferred candidate will live in the greater Houston area and travel regularly to the Dallas–Fort Worth markets, averaging eight overnight stays per month.

• Outside Sales & Business Development: Identify prospective customers, make introductory calls, conduct in-person visits, and follow up to generate new cement sales opportunities.

• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with ready-mix concrete producers, contractors, and other cement customers throughout Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

• Territory Management: Plan efficient travel routes, schedule customer appointments, and maintain consistent coverage across the assigned sales territory.

• Account Management: Understand customer needs, prepare quotes and proposals, and provide responsive service to support customer retention and sales growth.

• Product Training: Learn cement products, applications, and the sales process through hands-on training and guidance from experienced team members.

• Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with terminal operations, dispatch, and logistics teams to communicate product availability, customer requirements, and delivery schedules.

• Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate customer records, track sales activity, and share business opportunities and market feedback with leadership.

• Customer Support: Follow through on commitments and partner with internal teams to address customer questions and resolve concerns.

• Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and commitment to building a career in outside sales.

• Willingness to learn, accept coaching, and apply feedback.

• Ability to travel consistently throughout Houston and Dallas–Fort Worth, including an average of eight overnight stays per month.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Comfort introducing yourself to prospective customers and conducting face-to-face sales visits.

• Ability to organize appointments, manage a large territory, and follow up consistently.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.

• Residence in the greater Houston area preferred.

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, construction, building materials, or logistics is a plus. Prior cement sales experience is not required.
