MuleSoft Consultant / API Developer III
Remote or Local (Suffolk County, NY)
Pay: $57.00-$58.86/hour
Contract | 3-4 Months

SMX Services & Consulting is seeking an experienced MuleSoft Consultant / API Developer III to support a Suffolk County, NY government client on a short-term integration initiative.
This role requires a hands-on MuleSoft developer with experience designing, building, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting enterprise integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support MuleSoft integrations and APIs
- Build solutions using Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Exchange, and Runtime Manager
- Develop DataWeave transformations and integration flows
- Support REST APIs and API-led connectivity architecture
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Resolve issues involving data mapping, authentication, connectivity, and performance
- Create technical documentation, test results, and knowledge transfer materials
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers
Required Qualifications
- Experience developing integrations with the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
- Strong REST API development experience
- Advanced DataWeave skills
- Experience with Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Exchange, and Runtime Manager
- Knowledge of JSON, XML, and RAML
- Experience with OAuth2, TLS, API security, and secure integrations
- Strong troubleshooting, testing, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- MuleSoft Certified Developer (Level 1 or Level 2)
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect
- Experience integrating ERP, Finance, HR, Procurement, Vendor Management, or SaaS platforms
- Government, public sector, or regulated industry experience
- Experience supporting fast-paced consulting engagements
Work Location
Remote candidates are welcome. Candidates located in Suffolk County, Long Island, or the New York metropolitan area are preferred for occasional on-site meetings if requested by the client.
Salary : $57 - $59
