About the Role
SMPL Systems is seeking an experienced AV Lead Installation / Service Technician to lead installation teams and deliver high-quality audio-visual system deployments.
This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor installation technicians on-site
- Prepare job materials and coordinate daily tasks
- Interpret CAD drawings, scope of work, and BOMs
- Install and configure AV systems (displays, audio, control systems, etc.)
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Maintain daily site reports with photos
- Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
🔹 Technical Experience
- AV systems installation and service
- Cable termination and rack building
- DSP platforms (QSC, Biamp, Polycom)
- Control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX)
- Video systems (projectors, displays, conferencing systems)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
🔹 Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor job sites
- Working at heights, rooftops, and tight spaces
- Travel to client locations as needed
🔹 Requirements
- Experience in commercial AV installation/service
- Ability to lead and manage teams
- Strong communication skills
- Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
- Comfortable with physical work and travel
🔹 Pay
- $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
- Rate is determined by experience and knowledge of AV systems
