CNC Plasma Table Operator Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Table Operator to join our fabrication team in Mentor, OH. This is a hands-on, shop-based role focused on operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce precision metal components for structural and industrial fabrication projects. Basic CNC experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC plasma cutting table safely and efficiently.
- Load, align, and secure materials for accurate cutting
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings
- Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments as needed
- Inspect material and finished parts to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
- Maintain organized work area and follow all safety procedures
- Work with production team to meet daily and weekly output goals
- Completing other tasks such as sawing, deburring, etc. as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating plasma cutting or CNC equipment preferred
- Basic CNC knowledge (offsets, settings, machine operation) a plus
- Ability to read and understand fabrication prints
- Strong attention to detail and quality control standards
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Shift: Monday - Friday 7 am to 3:30pm with some overtime when necessary.
Requirements
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints and schematics.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices within a manufacturing setting.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
