Sanitation Manager

Position Summary

The Sanitation Specialist Manager is responsible for overseeing sanitation operations, managing and supporting sanitation specialists, ensuring service quality, and maintaining operational efficiency across all assigned locations. This role serves as both a leader and a hands-on sanitation professional, capable of performing fieldwork when necessary and responding to operational needs at various client sites.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management & Scheduling

  • Assign daily, weekly, and monthly workloads to sanitation specialists based on operational priorities and client requirements.
  • Develop and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
  • Monitor team productivity and performance to ensure work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to sanitation specialists.
  • Coordinate staffing adjustments as needed to address absences, emergencies, or increased workload demands.
Operations & Quality Control

  • Ensure all sanitation services are performed in accordance with company standards, safety requirements, and client expectations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality assurance checks at job sites.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections, and service issues.
  • Communicate with management regarding operational performance, staffing needs, and client concerns.
Field Support & Hands-On Responsibilities

  • Receive training on all sanitation procedures, equipment, and service protocols to become fully proficient in all aspects of field operations.
  • Travel to client sites as needed to assess sanitation issues, investigate service concerns, and provide solutions.
  • Perform sanitation services personally when operational needs require additional support.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment, procedures, and site-specific challenges.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and lead by example through hands-on involvement in field operations.
Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all team members follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety briefings and reinforce best practices.
  • Report and address safety concerns, incidents, or compliance issues promptly.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable sanitation regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sanitation, janitorial services, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to job sites and perform physical sanitation work when required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies as required.
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
Success Measures

  • Consistent completion of scheduled work assignments.
  • High-quality sanitation services and client satisfaction.
  • Effective team scheduling and workload distribution.
  • Strong safety compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to independently assess, troubleshoot, and resolve sanitation-related issues in the field.

Salary : $40,000 - $50,000
