Position Summary: Oversee daily operations in dry packaging area to ensure that only the highest quality product is packaged in a safe and efficient manner. Train, mentor and share job knowledge and skill sets to help and guide the development of Dry Packers. Cross-training and regular back-up for other departments including Wet Pack/Production, Buddy Rhodes and/or Shipping, depending on capability and proficiency.

Train, mentor and share job knowledge and skill sets to help and guide the development of Dry Packers. Cross-training and regular back-up for other departments including Wet Pack/Production, Buddy Rhodes and/or Shipping, depending on capability and proficiency.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with all employees in a civil, professional and respectful manner at all times – verbally, non-verbally and in writing.
- Set a positive example and be a good role model for employees.
- Coordinate with Shift Supervisor, Materials/Purchase Manager and Shipping/Logistics manager on production priorities.
- Knowledge of product and packing configurations.
- Knowledge on the computer programs Soar, Smooth-On Master Form, and Forkit.
- Work with Quality Assurance to update job aids and create job aids for new pack outs.
- Assign each employee to a station and assign jobs to each station throughout the shift.
- Coordinate with the material handler to make sure red jobs and export jobs are always packed out first.
- Make inspections on job pack outs throughout the shift to make sure the right product is being packed, the boxes have the correct box label, and the correct SDS inside the boxes.
- Operate and troubleshoot the Colordyne and Trojan printers.
- Knowledge on how to convert skids of packaged product to be GHS Compliant.
- Seek self-improvement and encourage improvement of others. Be technically proficient. Know your job and have a solid familiarity with employees' tasks.
- Train new employees on:
- How to use Soar and Smooth-On Master Form
- How to create a batch sheet to pack out a job
- How to print batch sheets, skid tags, and box labels
- How to print an SDS from Soar or Knowledge
- How to pack out a job at the specified station
- How to put product into location using Forkit
- Aware of date codes and product shelf life to properly rotate stock.
- Assist Managers to facilitate improved productivity of the packaging department.
- Be aware of what is going on around you. Take corrective action if you see someone else making a mistake. Cross checking coworkers’ tasks for accuracy.
- Maintain reliable information about remaining inventory when completing pack out sheets.
- Manage packaging supplies, informing Material/Purchasing Manager when supplies are running low.
- Actively giving feedback to employees of matters of performance and attitude.
- Active involvement in teams/committees.
- Actively giving feedback and working on project teams.
- Author detailed debriefs.
- Give and witness employee disciplinary actions.
- Be willing to work overtime as needed during the week and weekends.
